Committees
The Houston-based committees work to promote the mission within the city of Houston and Harris County.
The following is a list of committees and the chair of each one.
Government/Advocacy Committee | |
Acts as the conduit to the City of Houston and other local governments and public agencies. |
Education Committee | |
Takes the lead to promote education about green building design and construction through programs, seminars, and outreach. |
Special Events/Awards Committee | |
Prepares large-scale special social events for networking and fellowship. Handles and implements the process for the Environmental Award honoring outstanding LEED projects within the chapter boundaries. |
LEED for Schools | |
Institutes local efforts for the national initiative to promote LEED schools nationwide. |
LEED for HOMES | |
Institutes local efforts for the national initiative to promote LEED homes in Houston. |
Emerging Professionals Committee | |
Works to engage college students and recent college graduates in the U.S. Green Building Council. |
Existing Buildings Committee | |
Works to create more energy-efficient buildings through collaborations with other trade associations. |
Neighborhood Development Committee | |
Works to create a dialogue in the Houston community about the need for sustainable developments. |
Recycling Committee | |
Works to create stronger recycling efforts in the community. |
